Psychology Reimagined

Psychology, so dedicated to awakening human consciousness, needs to wake itself up to one of the most ancient human truths:

we cannot be studied or cured apart from the planet.”

(Hillman, 1995, pp. xvii–xxiii)

Dr. Nicole Auckerman

About

Dr. Nicole Auckerman earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a special emphasis on ecopsychology. During Dr. Auckerman’s doctoral internship, she studied equine-assisted psychotherapy, combining a psychodynamic approach with somatic and experiential therapies. By utilizing nature to encourage a sense of belonging and connection in her clients, she is passionate about healing what she refers to as the ‘epidemic of isolation’. This addresses the pervasive sense of loneliness and disconnection that runs rampant through our culture.

Additionally, Dr. Auckerman spent a year studying under physician Dr. Gabor Maté, learning his compassionate inquiry approach. This approach encompasses multiple modalities, but most effectively, it trains the clinician to sit alongside the client's pain and discomfort, thus becoming a witness to their trauma first, and the healing that follows.
